Who These Terms Apply To

These terms apply to every person who books a repair with us, uses this website, or contacts us in any way.

That includes homeowners throughout Lexington and Fayette County — from the historic homes in Chevy Chase near the University of Kentucky campus to the newer subdivisions in Hamburg near Veterans Park Drive. It includes customers in every neighbourhood we serve — Hartland, Tates Creek, Beaumont, Andover, Zandale, Palomar, Masterson Station, Kenwick, and beyond.

These terms also apply to customers in the 16 surrounding communities we serve. That includes Nicholasville, Georgetown, Richmond, Versailles, Winchester, Paris, Wilmore, and Frankfort.

By booking a service, approving a repair quote, using our website, or calling (859) 347-3448, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not book a service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. The date at the top of this page always shows when we last made changes.

Our Services

Appliance Repair Lexington provides in-home appliance repair for residential customers across Lexington, KY and Central Kentucky. We repair washers, dryers, refrigerators, ovens, stoves, dishwashers, freezers, and garbage disposals. We service all major brands, including Whirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE, Maytag, KitchenAid, Frigidaire, Bosch, Kenmore, Electrolux, and others listed across our service pages. We do in-home repairs only. We do not offer drop-off repair service. Every job happens at your Lexington address. Our technicians travel to you — not the other way around.

We reserve the right to decline any service request. Situations where we may decline include appliances we judge to be beyond economical repair, units with active pest infestations, appliances in locations that create a safety risk for our technicians, or jobs outside our service radius without prior agreement. If we decline a job after arriving, the diagnostic fee still applies. We will explain the reason clearly before any charge is made.

Booking and Appointments

You can book an appointment by calling (859) 347-3448 or using our online booking form. Both routes get you on the same schedule.

We offer same-day service for most calls received before noon. We cannot guarantee same-day availability for every request. Availability depends on our technicians’ current workload and parts stock.

We give every customer a two-hour arrival window. We do not say “sometime today.” We give you a specific window — for example, 10AM to 12PM — and we call or text 15 to 20 minutes before arrival.

If we run late beyond your window, we will contact you to confirm. Your time matters. We do not leave you waiting without notice.
If you are not home when our technician arrives at the confirmed time, the diagnostic fee still applies. The technician will attempt to reach you by phone. If no contact is made within 15 minutes of arrival, the job is rescheduled and the trip charge is invoiced.

We serve all Fayette County zip codes — 40502, 40503, 40504, 40505, 40506, 40507, 40508, 40509, 40510, 40511, 40513, 40514, 40515, 40516, 40517. We also cover surrounding counties within 35 minutes of New Circle Road. Jobs beyond that radius require prior agreement.

Diagnostic Fees and Pricing

We charge a diagnostic fee on every service visit. The fee covers travel to your home and the on-site assessment of your appliance.

Inside Fayette County: $29.99 to $125 diagnostic fee, depending on appliance type and location.

Outside Fayette County: An additional travel charge may apply. We confirm this before you book.

The diagnostic fee is waived in full when you proceed with the repair on the same visit. If you choose not to proceed with the repair after receiving the quote, the diagnostic fee is due at that time.

Every repair quote is flat-rate. That means one price covers parts and labour. We give you this price in writing before any work begins. You must approve it verbally or in writing before we start.

If we open the appliance and find an additional fault not visible during the initial diagnosis, we stop work. We have provided you with a new quote for the additional repair. You decide whether to proceed. You can approve it, decline it, or ask for time to consider. We do not start additional work without your approval.

All quotes are valid for ten calendar days from the date we issue them.

Repair Work and Parts

We use OEM parts on every repair. OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer — parts made to the manufacturer’s specification, not aftermarket substitutes.

OEM parts keep your existing manufacturer warranty valid. They also tend to last longer than aftermarket alternatives. This matters on refrigerators, washers, and ovens where a part failure can cause secondary damage.

If you specifically request aftermarket or used parts, we will accommodate that in writing before the repair begins. This is rare. Most customers want the right part.
Parts we remove and replace during a repair become our property unless you request them back before the technician leaves your home. Installed parts cannot be returned for a refund once the appliance has been operated.

We carry the 40 most commonly needed parts on every service van. This is why most Lexington repairs finish in a single visit — whether the job is in a Beaumont home near Paul Laurence Dunbar High School or an apartment off Limestone Street near Transylvania University.

We do not hire subcontractors. Every technician who shows up at your door is a direct employee of Appliance Repair Lexington, background-checked and uniformed.

Our 1-Year Warranty

Every completed repair carries a 1-year parts and labour warranty. This starts on the date the repair is finished.

If the same fault returns within 12 months, call us at (859) 347-3448. We will schedule a return visit at no charge. No invoice. No argument. This applies to both the part and the labour.

Most appliance repair companies in Lexington offer 30 to 90 days. EJ’s Appliance offers 90 days. Wildcat Appliance offers 30 days. We offer 365 days on every job.

What the warranty covers: The specific fault that was repaired. The parts we installed. The labour performed during that visit.

What the warranty does not cover:

New faults that develop after the repair are unrelated to the original job. Damage caused by power surges, flooding, fire, or other external events. Damage caused by continued use of an appliance after a fault is identified but before we are called. Cosmetic damage, sounds, or issues unrelated to the original repair. Appliances that another company or person has worked on during the warranty period. Normal wear and tear on parts not touched during the original repair. Appliances we previously declared beyond economic repair.

The warranty is voided if any other company or individual performs work on the appliance during the 12-month warranty period without our prior written agreement.

Warranty service requires your original invoice number. Keep your invoice. You can also request a copy by emailing Info@lexingtonappliancerepairky.com.

Payment Terms

Payment is due at the time of service. We do not invoice after the fact unless a prior arrangement has been made in writing.

We accept cash, personal checks, and all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

For checks returned due to insufficient funds, a $35 returned check fee applies, consistent with Kentucky law under KRS 514.040. We reserve the right to require cash or card payment for any customer with a prior returned check.

We do not charge overtime or weekend fees. Our flat rate applies every day from 8 AM to 8 PM — Monday through Sunday — including holidays.

If a payment is disputed or declined after work has been completed, we reserve the right to pursue collection through the appropriate legal channels under Kentucky law.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

You can cancel or reschedule an appointment at any time. We ask for at least two hours’ notice before your scheduled arrival window.

If you cancel or reschedule with less than two hours’ notice and the technician is already en route to your home, the diagnostic fee applies.

If you cancel or reschedule after the technician has arrived and begun the diagnostic, the full diagnostic fee applies.

To cancel or reschedule, call (859) 347-3448. Do not cancel by email only. A phone call ensures your slot is released, and another customer can be served.
We may need to reschedule your appointment in rare cases — a technician’s illness, a vehicle issue, or a parts delay for a prior job. We will contact you as early as possible and offer you the next available slot or a same-day rebook when one becomes available.

Our Liability to You

We carry full general liability insurance covering all service work performed at your Lexington home.

Our liability is limited to the cost of the repair we completed. We are not liable for pre-existing damage to your appliance or property. We are not liable for food spoilage, water damage, or other losses that occurred before our technician arrived at your home.

We are not liable for damage caused by appliance faults that existed before our visit and were not part of the repair we performed. Read More.

We are not liable for consequential losses beyond the repair itself — for example, lost income, laundromat expenses, or replacement costs for items damaged by an appliance fault before we were called.

These limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted under Kentucky law, including the Kentucky Consumer Protection Act (KRS 367.170 and KRS 367.220). Nothing in these terms removes your rights under Kentucky consumer protection law or limits your ability to pursue a complaint through the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Protection at ag.ky.gov.

We carry full insurance and are licensed to operate in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. If our technician causes damage to your home during a service visit, we will address it through our insurance. Report any such incident to us within 24 hours at (859) 347-3448.

Your Responsibilities as a Customer

We need certain things from you to do our job safely and correctly.

Safe access to the appliance. The area around the appliance must be clear enough for our technician to work safely. If a dryer is buried behind boxes in a Hartland laundry room or a dishwasher is blocked by cabinetry in a Chevy Chase kitchen, we may not be able to complete the repair on the first visit.

Accurate information at booking. Tell us the correct brand, model number, and fault description when you book. If the appliance we arrive to repair is different from what was described, we may need to re-diagnose, and the quote may change.

A responsible adult present. Someone 18 or older must be at the property during the repair. We cannot perform work at an unoccupied home.

Gas and water shutoffs. For gas appliance repairs, know where your gas shutoff valve is located. For dishwasher or washer repairs involving water lines, know where your main water shutoff is. Our technicians will not operate shutoff valves on your behalf.

Accurate contact details. Give us a phone number and address that works. We use these to confirm your appointment, give your arrival window, and reach you on the day of the repair.
