This page explains exactly what information we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have under Kentucky law. We wrote it in plain English on purpose. No legal jargon. No fine print designed to confuse.

Who This Policy Covers

This policy applies to every person who contacts us, visits our website, books a repair appointment, or interacts with our team in any way.

That includes homeowners in Chevy Chase, Hamburg, Tates Creek, Hartland, Beaumont, and every other neighbourhood in Lexington and Fayette County. It also covers customers in the 16 surrounding Central Kentucky communities we serve — from Nicholasville to Georgetown to Richmond.

This policy covers information collected through our website at lexingtonappliancerepairky.com, by phone at (859) 347-3448, by email at Info@lexingtonappliancerepairky.com, and in person during service visits at your home.

We comply with the Kentucky Consumer Data Protection Act (KCDPA), codified in KRS 367.3611 to 367.3629, which went into effect on January 1, 2026. We also comply with the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and all applicable Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines.

What Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to do our job. Nothing more.

Contact information. Your name, phone number, home address, and email address. We need this to schedule your repair, send confirmations, and reach you on the day of your appointment.

Appliance information. The brand, model number, and fault description of the appliance you need repaired. This helps us bring the right parts to your Lexington home on the first visit.

Payment information. We accept cash, check, and major credit and debit cards. Card transactions go through a secure third-party payment processor. We do not store card numbers on our systems.

Service history. A record of the repairs we have completed at your address. We use this to honour our 1-year parts and labour warranty and to answer follow-up questions about your repair.

Website usage data. If you visit lexingtonappliancerepairky.com, we may collect standard technical data. This includes your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time on site. We use tools like Google Analytics to collect this data. It is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

Photos of appliances. During a service visit, our technician may take photos of your appliance before and after the repair. We use these only for quality control, insurance documentation, and warranty records.

We do not collect sensitive personal data as defined under the KCDPA. This means we do not collect racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health diagnoses, sexual orientation, biometric data, or precise geolocation data.

How We Collect That Information

We collect information in four ways.

You give it to us directly. When you call (859) 347-3448 to book a repair, when you fill out a contact form on our website, or when our technician arrives at your home near Keeneland Race Course or your apartment near the University of Kentucky campus on Limestone Street.

We collect it automatically through our website. Our website uses cookies and standard analytics tools. These tools record how visitors use the site. The data does not personally identify you unless you have submitted your contact details.

We collect it during service visits. When our technician diagnoses your appliance at your home in Hamburg, Beaumont, Andover, or anywhere else in Fayette County, we record the fault, the parts used, and the repair completed. This goes into your service record.

We may receive it from third parties. If you book through a third-party platform such as Google or Yelp, they may share your contact details with us to fulfil your service request. Those platforms have their own privacy policies that govern how they handle your data.

Why We Collect Your Information

We collect your information for one core reason. To repair your appliance and give you good service.

Here is the full list of how we use your information.

To schedule your appointment and send a confirmed arrival window. To dispatch the right technician to your address in Lexington. To give you a flat-rate price before any work begins. To order the right OEM parts for your specific brand and model. To process your payment after the job is done. To honour your 1-year parts and labour warranty if the same fault returns. To respond to any questions or complaints after your repair. To improve our website and booking process based on how visitors use it. To meet any legal obligations under Kentucky law or federal regulation.

We do not use your information for targeted advertising. We do not sell your information to any third party for money or for any non-monetary exchange. We do not share your contact details with any company that would use them to market products or services to you.

Who We Share Your Information With

We share your information with as few people as possible.

Our own technicians. Your name, address, appliance type, and appointment window go to the technician assigned to your job. That is it. They do not receive your payment details.

Our payment processor. Card payments are processed through a secure, PCI-compliant payment provider. They process the transaction and return a confirmation. We do not store card data.

Google Analytics. Our website uses Google Analytics to track visitor behaviour. Google receives aggregated usage data. This data is not linked to your personal contact information. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking through your browser settings or the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Home warranty companies. If your repair is covered by a home warranty claim, we may share your service record and repair invoice with your warranty provider. We do this only when you ask us to.

Legal authorities. We may disclose your information if required by a court order, a subpoena, or a lawful request from a government authority. We do not do this voluntarily and only comply when legally required.

We have never sold personal data. We have no plans to sell personal data. Under the KCDPA, any sale of personal data to a third party requires your opt-out right to be honoured. We simply do not sell data at all.

How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable and practical steps to protect every piece of information you share with us.

Your contact details and service records are stored in a secure business management system with password protection and role-based access controls. Only staff members who need access to do their job can see your records.
Paper records from service visits go into locked storage at our office at 235 Bolivar St, Lexington, KY 40508. We do not leave service records in vehicles overnight.

Our website uses HTTPS encryption. Any data you submit through our contact or booking form travels over a secure, encrypted connection.
No data security system is perfect. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you promptly and take immediate steps to contain it.

Cookies and Website Tracking

Our website uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file your browser stores on your device when you visit a site.

We use three types of cookies.

Session cookies. These run only while you browse our site. They help pages load correctly and remember your actions within a single visit. They expire when you close your browser.

Analytics cookies. Google Analytics uses these to track how visitors move through our website. We use this data to improve the site. No personally identifying information goes into these cookies unless you have submitted a contact form.

Preference cookies. These remember the settings you have chosen, such as your preferred contact method on a booking form. They expire after a set period.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you do this under Privacy or Settings. Blocking cookies may affect how some parts of our website function.
We do not use advertising cookies. We do not allow third-party ad networks to place cookies on our website. There are no ads on this site. Anthropic’s consumer-facing products are ad-free, and we operate by the same principle — we do not let advertisers use our website to reach you.

Your Rights Under Kentucky Law

The Kentucky Consumer Data Protection Act went into effect on January 1, 2026. It gives Kentucky residents specific rights over their personal data.

Here is what those rights mean for you as a customer of Appliance Repair Lexington.

Right to access. You can ask us what personal information we hold about you. We will tell you the categories of data, where it came from, and what we use it for.

Right to correction. If we have incorrect information on file — a wrong phone number, a misspelt address, an inaccurate service record — you can ask us to fix it.

Right to deletion. You can ask us to delete your personal data. We will honour that request unless we are legally required to keep the record. For example, we are required to keep financial records for tax purposes under Kentucky and federal law.

Right to data portability. You can ask for a copy of your personal data in a usable format. We will provide it within 45 days of your request, as required under the KCDPA.

Right to opt out of data sales. We do not sell your data. This right is already fulfilled by default.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us directly.
Phone: (859) 347-3448 Email: Info@lexingtonappliancerepairky.com Mail: 235 Bolivar St, Lexington, KY 40508.

We will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why. If we deny your request, we will explain the reason and tell you how to appeal.
The Kentucky Attorney General enforces the KCDPA. You can contact the Office of the Attorney General at ag.ky.gov if you believe your rights have been violated.

Children’s Privacy

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13.

We comply with the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Under COPPA and the KCDPA, any personal data from a known child under 13 qualifies as sensitive data and requires parental consent before collection.

If you believe your child has submitted personal information to us without your knowledge, contact us immediately at (859) 347-3448 or Info@lexingtonappliancerepairky.com. We will delete that information promptly.

How Long Do We Keep Your Data

We keep your personal information for as long as it is needed for one of two reasons. To deliver the services you asked for, or to meet a legal obligation.
Here is how long we keep specific types of data.

Appointment and contact records. We keep these for three years after your last service visit. This covers our 1-year warranty period and allows us to answer any warranty or billing questions you might have later.

Payment and invoice records. We keep these for seven years. This meets Kentucky state tax record requirements and federal IRS guidelines.

Website analytics data. Google Analytics retains data for 26 months by default. This is aggregated and not personally identifiable.

Photos from service visits. We keep these for one year after the repair date. They support warranty claims and quality reviews. After one year, they are deleted.

When we no longer need your data, we securely delete it from our systems. Paper records get shredded. Digital records get permanently deleted from our management system.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices change, when a new law comes into effect, or when we add new tools to our website.

The date at the top of this page always shows when we last made changes. For major changes that affect your rights, we will post a clear notice on our website and update the date.

We encourage you to check this page once a year. Continued use of our services after a policy update means you accept the updated terms.
