Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to every service call, repair, estimate, or parts sale we perform. By scheduling an appointment, allowing a technician on your property, or paying an invoice, you agree to everything written below.
Service Area and Response Times
We serve Lexington-Fayette County and all zip codes within roughly 35 minutes of New Circle Road (includes Georgetown, Nicholasville, Versailles, Winchester, Richmond, Frankfort, Paris, and parts of Jessamine, Scott, Woodford, and Clark counties). Calls beyond that radius are accepted only by prior agreement and carry an additional travel surcharge. Same-day service is provided when possible but is never guaranteed. Appointments are scheduled in two-hour arrival windows. If we run late we will call or text; if you are not home when the technician arrives the trip charge still applies.
Pricing and Payment
Current rates (posted on the website and confirmed at booking): – Trip + diagnostic fee inside Fayette County: $79 – Trip + diagnostic fee outside Fayette County: $99 The diagnostic fee is waived only when the repair is completed during the same visit. Labor is charged at a flat rate per job, quoted and approved before work begins. Parts are charged at list price plus normal retail markup. Prices do not include taxes. We accept cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and all major credit/debit cards, and contactless payment. Payment is due in full when the repair is finished, before the technician leaves the premises. A $35 fee is added for any returned check. Past-due invoices accrue 1.5 % interest per month after 10 days.
Estimates and Authorizations
All estimates are valid for 10 calendar days. Once you approve the estimate (verbally, by text, or by signing the work order) you authorize us to perform the repair and you agree to pay the full amount quoted. If additional problems are discovered after the appliance is opened, the technician will stop and a new estimate will be provided. You may decline the additional work; in that case you still owe the original diagnostic fee plus any labor already performed.
Warranty on Repairs
Every repair carries a full one-year warranty on parts and labor starting the day the job is completed. If the same part or a directly related part fails within 12 months we will repair or replace it at no charge for parts or labor. Warranty work requires the original invoice and is performed during normal business hours. The warranty does not cover: – Subsequent failures caused by power surges, flooding, misuse, neglect, or acts of God – Cosmetic damage, noises unrelated to the original repair, or problems caused by continued use of a leaking appliance – Refrigerant leaks discovered after the initial repair unless the system was opened by us during that visit – Appliances older than 15 years or already declared “beyond economical repair” Warranty is void if anyone other than our technician works on the appliance during the warranty period.
Parts Policy
We use new factory (OEM) parts unless you specifically request and approve used or aftermarket parts in writing. All replaced parts become our property unless you request them back before the technician leaves. Installed parts may not be returned for refund once the appliance has been operated.
Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to decline service on any appliance that in our judgment is unsafe, beyond economical repair, heavily infested with insects, contaminated with mold or biohazards, or has been previously worked on in a manner that prevents a reliable repair. In such cases only the diagnostic fee is owed.
Customer-Supplied Parts
We strongly discourage customer-supplied parts because we cannot warranty them. If you insist on using your own part we will install it at the normal labor rate, but no warranty of any kind is provided on the part or the installation.
Access and Working Conditions
You must provide free and safe access to the appliance, including clear pathways, working electrical outlets, and (for stacked or built-in units) safe removal of obstacles. If the technician cannot reach the appliance or deems the area unsafe (loose pets, excessive clutter, standing water, etc.the visit ends and the full trip charge applies. Extra labor charges apply for appliances located in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, or that require removal of doors or built-in cabinetry.
Damage and Liability
We carry general liability and workers-comp insurance. We are not responsible for: – Pre-existing damage to floors, walls, countertops, or cabinetry – Damage caused by concealed conditions (rotted floors, hidden leaks, faulty wiring, or plumbing not visible before work began) – Loss of food due to refrigerator or freezer failure – Consequential or incidental damages of any kind Maximum liability under any circumstance is limited to the amount paid for the repair.
Refrigerant Recovery and Disposal
All refrigerant work is performed by EPA-certified technicians. Recovered refrigerant is reclaimed or destroyed according to federal law. You remain the legal generator of any old appliance you own and are responsible for proper disposal if you decline our removal service.
Old Appliance Removal
We will haul away the old appliance for a flat fee disclosed at booking. We dispose of everything legally and provide a disposal receipt upon request.
Cancellation and No-Show Policy
Appointments cancelled with less than two hours notice or when the technician is already en route are charged the full diagnostic fee. Repeated no-shows may result in refusal of future service.
After-Hours and Emergency Service
Calls received after 8 PM or on major holidays are treated as emergencies and carry an additional $89 surcharge on top of normal rates. Emergency service is first-come, first-served and availability is never guaranteed.
Photographs and Recordings
Technicians routinely take before-and-after photographs for quality control and warranty records. We may also record phone calls for training and accuracy. By using our service you consent to such recording under Kentucky one-party consent law.
Reviews and Marketing
We may use anonymized photos of the repair (never showing your face or address) on our website, Google page, or social media. If you prefer we not use your job photos, simply tell the technician.
Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failure to perform caused by weather events, natural disasters, pandemics, supply-chain shortages, or other events beyond our reasonable control.
Governing Law and Venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Any dispute arising from service performed in Fayette County shall be resolved in the courts of Fayette County, Kentucky.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. The version posted on the website at the time of booking controls. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Entire Agreement
This document plus the written work order/invoice you sign constitutes the entire agreement between you and Appliance Repair Lexington. No verbal promises or side agreements are binding.
