About Us
The Real Story Behind the Name
We are a family-owned appliance repair business that has served Lexington and the surrounding counties since 2010. No corporate headquarters, no out-of-state call center, no private-equity owners. When you dial (859) 347-3448 you reach one of the owners or our longtime dispatcher who has been with us for almost a decade. We live here, pay taxes here, coach kids’ teams here, and still fix appliances the same way we started—honestly, quickly, and at a fair price.
How It All Began
The company began in my parents’ two-car garage on Aylesford Place in Chevy Chase. My father had spent fifteen years as a factory-authorized Whirlpool technician driving all over Kentucky for a national service contractor. He grew tired of the long hours away from home and the pressure to upsell unnecessary parts. One April morning in 2010 he turned in his company van, bought a used white Econoline, painted “Appliance Repair Lexington” on the doors with stick-on letters from Lowe’s, and told Mom to start answering the house phone for service calls. She kept the schedule on a paper desk calendar for the first three years. My older brother and I cleaned parts after school and rode along on weekends. By Christmas of that first year Dad had to hire his high-school buddy to keep up with the phones. That garage is still standing, and we still park a truck there when the shop gets full.
Keeping It Small on Purpose
Fifteen years later we run six trucks and employ six full-time technicians, including my brother and me. We made a decision early to stay small enough that every customer can reach an owner directly if something goes wrong. We turn down franchise offers and big marketing contracts because we refuse to become the company Dad left in 2010. Staying local means we know the back roads from Masterson Station to Boone’s Trace, we recognize which neighborhoods still have 60-amp fuse panels, and we understand how Lexington’s hard water and humid summers chew up dishwasher pumps and dryer vents faster than anywhere else in the country.
Where We Work
Our normal service area covers all of Fayette County and stretches out to Georgetown, Nicholasville, Versailles, Winchester, Richmond, Frankfort, Paris, and most of Jessamine and Scott counties. If Google Maps says it’s within roughly thirty-five minutes of New Circle Road, we will come the same day in almost every case. We keep normal hours from eight in the morning until eight at night, seven days a week, because breakdowns do not care about weekends or holidays.
What We Actually Fix
We repair refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, wall ovens, freestanding ranges, cooktops, over-the-range microwaves, and the occasional wine cooler, and even built-in refrigerator columns in the newer houses out near Greenbrier. Gas or electric does not matter, and age rarely stops us. We have brought forty-year-old Kenmore dryers and twenty-year-old Sub-Zero built-ins back to life the same week. Our technicians carry factory training and current authorization for Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, GE, Café, Samsung, LG, Bosch, Thermador, Frigidaire, and Electrolux. That authorization lets us pull schematics and order parts the same day instead of waiting weeks like unauthorized shops.
Trucks That Save You a Second Trip
Each van operates like a rolling parts warehouse. We stock the hundred parts that fail most often—door gaskets, ice-maker kits, washer lid switches, dryer thermal fuses and belts, oven igniters, surface elements, control boards for the common Samsung French-door refrigerators, and every popular dishwasher pump, and dozens of refrigerator start devices. Because of that stock we complete about eight out of ten repairs on the first visit. The remaining jobs usually need only one special-order part that arrives the next morning.
Straightforward Pricing Most Shops Won’t Post
We publish our rates because customers kept telling us they were tired of the bait-and-switch games. Inside the Lexington urban service area the trip-and-diagnostic charge is seventy-nine dollars. Outside the county it is ninety-nine dollars. That fee disappears completely if you let us complete the repair. After diagnosis we quote a flat labor price for the job, not an hourly rate that can stretch forever. Parts carry the normal retail markup—enough to stay in business, not enough to gouge anyone. Average total bill in 2025 falls between two-hundred twenty and three-hundred forty dollars depending on the appliance and the failure. Every repair receives a full one-year warranty on parts and labor with no loopholes.
The People Who Show Up at Your Door
All six technicians have at least nine years of experience, and the senior man has twenty-eight. Everyone passes background checks and drug screens, carries full liability and workers-comp insurance, and holds current EPA refrigerant certification and NASTeC certification. New hires ride with a senior technician for a minimum of six months before they ever work alone. Four of the six techs own homes inside Fayette County, one lives just over the line in Jessamine, and the sixth grew up in Georgetown and still drives in every day. They know which apartment complexes require parking permits and which subdivisions have HOA rules about service vans. Little details like that save time and keep your cost down.
Giving Back Because This Town Raised Us
Every December since 2014 we pick five single-parent or senior households and repair or replace their major appliances at no charge. We coach two Nicholasville Little League teams, support the UK club lacrosse program, and let Fayette County high-school students job-shadow on Saturdays for school credit and pocket money. During the ice storm of 2022 we worked sixteen-hour days for a week straight running portable generators to keep elderly customers’ refrigerators and freezers cold until power returned. Lexington has been good to us, so we try to be good to Lexington.
Why Customers Stay With Us Year After Year
People tell us the same handful of things keep them calling back. We answer the phone live until eight at night, every night. We send text reminders and a live tracking link so you can watch the truck on the map. We take before-and-after pictures of every repair and text them to the customer the same day. We explain the failure in normal English instead of hiding behind jargon. If an appliance has reached the point where repair no longer makes sense, we say so upfront and help pick a reliable replacement without trying to sell anything. Most important, we stand behind the work—if the same part fails again inside twelve months, the second visit is on us.
The Tools and Training Behind the Work
Every technician carries a full set of digital manifold gauges, vacuum pumps, leak detectors, multimeters, and the newest scan tools for Samsung and LG smart appliances. We still attend factory training every year in Louisville, Indianapolis, or Atlanta because the manufacturers change control boards and software faster than most people realize. That investment means we can fix a 2025 Wi-Fi-enabled refrigerator the same week it is released instead of telling the customer to call the manufacturer.
Same-Day Reality, Not Just a Slogan
When you call before noon on a normal weekday we are at the house that afternoon in ninety-five percent of cases. After noon we still make it the same day more than half the time. Evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays cost exactly the same as a Tuesday morning. The only days we ever close are Thanksgiving and Christmas, and even then one owner keeps a phone on in case a refrigerator dies full of holiday food.
The Promise We Still Keep
At the end of the day we are still the same family that started in a Chevy Chase garage. We show up when we say we will, we fix the appliance right the right way the first time, we clean up after ourselves, we charge what we quoted, and we guarantee the work for a full year. Nothing fancy, nothing complicated—just the way Dad insisted on doing it in 2010 and the way we still do it in 2025.
If your washer is flooding the laundry room, your refrigerator is warm, or your oven will not heat the night before the big family gathering, save our number. We will take care of you the way we take care of our own family—because in this town you probably are family or at least a friend of a friend.
